Before entering into design, we will consult with you to determine the best fit for your needs. Tenhulzen Design offers the following options to begin the process:

Feasibility Study
This phase determines the number of hours required for development of the entire project. The cost of the feasibility study is based on the expected number of hours for the architect to determine the project’s potential with regard to limitations of the property, challenges within the structure or restrictions imposed by the governing jurisdiction.

Preliminary Design Agreement
The Agreement includes the expected number of hours for the architect to determine the project’s layout with regards to form and function following the positive results of the Feasibility Study. This includes an interview process to conduct a needs assessment.

Hourly Design Agreement
Many clients prefer this option, which is based on a deposit applied to the hourly design rate for complete design services. This deposit is based on a reasonable number of hours to complete the preliminary design process. Hourly design billing continues for the duration of the project in an effort to make all decisions before the project starts.

Comprehensive Design Agreement
This option is based on an accurately defined project description and design schedule to accomodate clients who know exactly what they want. Variance from the scope or schedule requires Design Addendum with modification to design schedule and/or design fees.
