Creating a Luxurious Shower Space

I’m thrilled to share a recent project that truly showcases the power of design and creativity. We recently completed a project for a client who wanted to

transform their bathtub and small shower into a spacious, luxurious shower space. The goal was to create an impact without breaking the budget. And let me tell you, we achieved just that!

Unveiling the Specialty Tile

The key to making a big impact without a big budget? Specialty tiles! When I presented a stunning marble tile to the clients, they were blown away. The intricate and beautiful design captured their hearts, and rightly so. However, we had to ensure that this extravagant tile fit within the budget constraints. This is where my role as a designer truly comes into play.

Strategic Tile Application

To maintain the aesthetic appeal while adhering to the budget, we strategically applied the specialty tile. The vertical application behind the shower head and the horizontal application in the niche beneath the window ensured that the exquisite tile could be admired from various vantage points in the bathroom. It’s all about creating maximum impact without exceeding the budget.

Elevating the Design Game

At Tenhulzen Residential, we believe that limits on a budget should never limit creativity.  By harnessing the potential of specialty tiles and employing strategic application techniques, we were able to elevate the

design game for this shower project. The end result is a luxurious, visually stunning shower space that embodies elegance and sophistication without breaking the bank.

Hollywood Manor Steals the Spotlight

We’re thrilled to announce that Tenhulzen Residential is the 2025 Chrysalis Award Winner for Residential Addition Over $250,000. This national honor recognizes excellence in design, creativity, and craftsmanship. Our winning project? None other than the dazzling Hollywood Manor.

This award isn’t just a plaque on the wall. It’s a celebration of the vision, planning, and detail poured into every inch of this extraordinary home.

From Rambler to Award-Winning

It all started with a modest 1950s rambler. Two bedrooms. One bath. Plenty of potential. The homeowners dreamed big, and we were ready to direct the feature-length remodel.

We didn’t tear it down—we transformed it. Working closely with King County, we designed a 5,200-square-foot addition in classic modern farmhouse style. The original home became an office and storage suite. The new addition took center stage, earning ovations from everyone who sees it.

Built for Applause

Hollywood Manor wasn’t an easy production. Permitting around wetlands, wells, and a septic system added drama. Excavating a nine-foot basement without exporting soil required choreography. Raising the driveway four feet while maintaining landscape harmony? That’s what we call award-winning coordination.

Inside, every detail earned its close-up. The kitchen features custom cabinetry, sintered stone, and a folding corner less window. The octagonal gazebo? It boasts a tongue-and-groove herringbone ceiling

that’s pure cinematic beauty.

Upstairs, themed guest suites offer private decks, fireplaces, and spa-style bathrooms. A three-stop elevator adds convenience and charm. Even the mechanical systems were carefully hidden for a seamless experience.

This wasn’t just a remodel — it was a reinvention!
