In 2002, The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties requested that builders provide playhouses for auction to support the Boys & Girls Club.

The base platform was designed to be 8′ x 10′, with a maximum height to for freeway transport. Several designs were created, our being the only representing the marine industry. Among the top playhouses were a Keebler Treehouse, a classic cottage, firetruck and a mushroom.

The design of our Tugboat Playhouse was hand-drawn at 1″ scale in 4 pages: lower floor plan, upper floor plan, left elevation and rear elevation. All materials and labor were provided entirely by Tenhulzen Remodeling. Roughly 320 hours were logged in total. The finish materials were sourced at a surplus warehouse in Ballard.

Instead of posting images of the build, a 3 1/2 minute video was created and posted to YouTube:

The auction winner for our Tugboat Playhouse was a recent customer, who we built a 2nd floor addition for.
