Homes built with decks attached are often undersized and short-lived in this climate. This outside deck remodel was attached to the house after the siding and then the entire exterior is painted, including the deck surface.  This process locks in moisture and eventually rots out the cedar boards that make up the deck surface.

Deck renovations often include expansion to accommodate furniture, a grille and lighting for outdoor living enjoyment and entertaining.

Occasionally, a roof is requested to enjoy the space year-round.  This project features skylights set in an exposed card decking roof with timber frame structure over an Aztec surface and railing system.  A paddle fan keeps it cooler in the summer and a TV was mounted to enjoy sporting events while outdoors.
