A Year in the Making: From Dream to Reality in Outdoor Remodeling
The transformative journey of outdoor living began in March 2021, as the sequel to an extensive whole house renovation called “You Only Remodel Twice”. Leveraging the insights and permit stipulations from the first project, this outdoor living space ventured into creating an awe-inspiring structure. The goal was clear: nestle an architecturally pleasing space that would enhance the backyard while preserving the precious sunlight reaching the kitchen. Site conditions severely limited the scope to what ultimately maximized the space.
The final result is a magnificent outdoor living space designed to provide enjoyment for the entire family. The focal point is an outdoor TV framed with elegant Eldorado stone, surrounding a wood-burning fireplace. It boasts a black granite hearth and a natural reclaimed wood mantle adorned with a midnight bronze chimney cap.
To ensure natural light continues to grace the space, two Velux skylights and an acrylic roof attachment were incorporated. Rain chains channel the Pacific Northwest weather in a visually appealing manner, and antique bronze Charleston sconces contribute to the soft white ambiance of the space.
The outdoor living area’s functionality extends beyond the warm months. Infrared heaters, wisely timed for winter, ensure that the area can be enjoyed year-round. Two five-blade Wynd paddle fans provide a refreshing breeze during the summer.
The cooking and dining area is well-appointed with steel cabinets adorned with Neolith countertops, Calatorao silk, and ample space for the green egg and grill. A prep sink, complete with a BOSCH water heater and Lynx stainless faucet, adds convenience to the space. Comfortable dining and lounging areas are thoughtfully arranged to ensure that every moment spent here is a delight.
This project demonstrates the quality work of Tenhulzen Residential in Woodinville, showcasing an outdoor living masterpiece that seamlessly blends style, comfort, and functionality. It’s a space where family gatherings, entertaining friends, and even the kids’ sports activities can thrive. The wood and stone textures harmonize with the natural surroundings, creating a space that’s not just beautiful but also an inviting extension of the home.
