A Decade of Creative Marketing: Annual Poster
At Tenhulzen Residential, we’ve cultivated a unique creative marketing approach that blends our Design/Build expertise with the creativity of the motion picture industry.
We chose this Thanksgiving week to unveil our latest poster, inspired by the movie “Knives Out.” Our team has once again embraced this creative challenge, sourcing outfits from local thrift stores to bring their characters to life.
VMG Studios in Bellevue, WA graciously supplied the green room for this year’s memorable experience for the TR crew.
Now the fun part of creating the digital content that replicates the original artwork. And then releasing the poster at the next A.V.A.T.A.R. event.
The Crew’s excited for this one, taking a break from the relatively short shoot.
The Evolution of Our Poster Series
We get a lot of questions about why we do this. Here’s a quick recap:
Our poster tradition began in 2012 as a way to exemplify our commitment to performance. More importantly, release of each poster is done during the A.V.A.T.A.R. event. This event is where 7 award categories honor our valued trade contractors and vendors. Because after all, without our trade partners, where would we be?
From 2012 to 2019, the posters were selected by popular vote of those with a large number of cast members. However, the onset of COVID-19 in 2020 shifted our approach. That year’s poster reflected the uncertainty of the times due to the onset of Covid-19 protocols. We selected the theme based on the series of unfortunate events that had people panicking about a viral outbreak.
The next 4 posters were similarly chosen based on what was going on at the time.
Reflecting On Challenging Times
By 2021, we were coming out of Covid, but were under significant scrutiny for operating a business on our property. We went as far as appealing to the Hearings Examiner for a list of violations that were in process of being corrected. The Usual Suspects poster seemed appropriate to commemorate the circumstances.
In 2022, our property was under construction. The office and field crew literally felt lost as the conditions changed throughout the process. The opportunity to stand in the foundation forms of what was to become Hollywood Manor made sense to be Lost in Space, which combined a sense of feeling lost while standing in our new space.
2023 was a no brainer. The completion of our new home was a couple months away, so we took the opportunity to throw a massive frat party at our new Animal House.
This year’s theme poster ‘Tenhulzens Out’ pays homage to the positive impact of our presence in the community.
As we prepare to reveal our latest creation at the upcoming A.V.A.T.A.R. event, we’re reminded of how this tradition has become a cherished part of our company culture. It’s more than just marketing; it’s a creative expression of our journey, our challenges, and our commitment to the community we serve. Most importantly, to share our successes with our trade partners.
