Desiring a genuine man cave experience, the homeowner sough out Tenhulzen Residential. The challenge? Coordinating the desired look within a budget acceptable to his wife. A strategic collaboration was initiated to turn this dream into a reality.

Boston Sports-Themed Residential Pub: A Visual Symphony

The transformation culminated in a Boston sports-teams inspired residential pub. Dual flat-screen TVs on separate receivers dominate the space – a green wall for the Celtics and a blue one for the Patriots. A brushed stainless foot rail and countertop support a Cambria Fieldstone countertop, providing space for up to eight bar stools.

Functional Elegance in Every Detail

Details matter. A kegerator snugly fits in a 45-degree corner, below 3/8” glass shelves supported by custom brushed stainless concealed brackets. Despite walls being out of plumb, these brackets, anchored meticulously, align the glass shelves perfectly amidst decorative Lunada Bay glass tiles and mirrors. Dark-stained alder cabinetry, inclusive of a 12-bottle rack, beaded paneling, and lockable doors, adds a touch of sophistication. Lighting is both functional and mood-enhancing with dimmable can lights over the bar and separate zones of 6-inch can lighting.

A Sports Bar Beyond Imagination

What was once a carpeted billiard room with makeshift arrangements is now a fully-functional sports bar. The prefinished hickory hand-sculpted floor adds warmth and character, floating on a rubberized mat over a sealed concrete floor. The transformation, though impressive, wasn’t without its challenges, including bowed walls, an uneven floor, and the need to blend inconsistent knockdown textures on walls and ceiling.
