Our design studio sits on 148th Avenue NE, minutes from the lake, which means this is the community we know best and reach fastest. Crews arrive when they said they would, the designer can stop by mid-project without it becoming an appointment, and you aren’t paying for anyone’s drive time.
Cottage Lake is also unincorporated King County rather than a city, and that changes the practical side of a project. Permits go through the county, and many properties here sit on well and septic — both of which have a direct say in what an addition or an accessory dwelling can actually be. Those are first-conversation topics for us, not week-six surprises.
The housing suits the setting: larger wooded lots, homes built mostly from the 1970s through the 1990s, and a fair number of acreage and equestrian properties. That combination makes this some of the best ground we work for additions, detached accessory dwellings, shops, and outdoor living — the projects where the site allows the right answer instead of the compromise.
