A delightful evening to celebrate the induction of Traci Tenhulzen as the 2023 Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties President was held at the W Hotel in Bellevue. This organization was founded in 1909 and is the oldest and largest association in the National Association of Home Builders. Traci Tenhulzen will be the 7th female President in the 114 year history. To say she is passionate about her new position would be an understatement.
Traci began her career in the building industry in 2001. As founder and owner of a audit and training and safety company, Traci developed a network of commercial contractor, homebuilders and heavy equipment operators.
In 2007, Traci sold her company and began working with Michael in the remodeling business. She and Michael strengthened their industry partnership in 2012 as they became co-owners of Tenhulzen Residential Design Build Remodeling, the family business.
Traci believes, “It’s not whether you win or lose, but how to lead your team to succeed with their goals.” She appreciates the unique position that she is in with being a female in a male dominated industry. Her success does not come by accident. Traci prepares for each day, and each job by leaving no stone unturned. She askes questions, does research and relies on her years of sales and customer service experience.
“My father-in-law used to say, Remodeling is like tailoring clothes for a person while they are walking.” Says Traci, “In our industry, we are renovating homes while our clients are living there.” So being aware and sensitive to those challenges is one of Traci’s strongest traits.
This group is made up of professional homebuilders, architects, remodelers, suppliers, manufacturers, and sales and marketing professionals in your community who believe homeownership is a right for everyone.
The evening began with the honor of having Sherry Schwab “swear” Traci in. It should be noted that Sherry Schwab served as the 4th female President of the Master Builders Association. Sherry has dedicated her time and extraordinary talents to other organizations in the industry. She served as President to BIAW and is a co-founder and past President of PWB (Professional Women in Building Council) to name a few.
Traci accepted her upcoming position with grace and launched her theme for the 2023 leadership year – “Root Connection – Together We Are Stronger.” She acknowledged that the Master Builders Association is the largest building organization in the nation. Traci noted with that brings “massive responsibility, creditability and influence” in flying this organization against opposing forces of building and economic growth.
The evening included many awards in addition to the Installation of Officers for the upcoming 2023 year and was presented by Regence BlueShield.
